Do you have a trans-go as well?

Is Lexan that cheap in canada or how much do you have done?

No trans-go, transmission has never been opened.

I got half a sheet of 1/8 tinted for rear window and rear doors.

It isn't as much as most people think. The rear window weighs 15 lbs, lexan is 8 lbs. not sure about the rear doors but the weight savings is much less. If I had it to do over I would leave the glass, too much work for so little saving.

I actually added weight last year, put the P/S back in, MP3 system etc. Plus I'm getting fat in my golden years, back up to 190 now, will have to go on a diet before racing season starts. My 6' frame won't take too much more weight before I have a ****do. (Thats when you stomach sticks out further than your **** do.)

We are heading down to Fl tomorrow for a month or so to get some sun. Getting sick of all this snow, it seems every day its just more snow.

Does that trans-go actually make a difference in 1/4 times?

How about you build the fastest then. A 9 sec max would be nice but it hasnt happened.

... and if there is a faster maxima, show some evidence. Till then, Jime's car is the fastest maxima known in any generation.

You could definitly make a 9 or 8 second max. It just takes an a$$ load of money to accomplish. either way anything under an 11sec max is remarkable.

I like to use the GM W-body crowd for comparison to us a lot, and all but a couple of cars they have in the single digits are shop cars. Those that aren't shop cars are typically people with more money than brains and pay a shop to build it for them anyway.

Hey Jim, do you have a roll bar in yet? They're supposed to ask for a 5-point roll bar under 11.50, have they bothered you yet?

No plans for a rollbar. But also no plans to run under 11:49 again either until the end of this year when I will have another go with a little different setup. I know the track manager and inspection guys so no problem as long its only one day a year. I plan on racing in the 12 sec area N/A as I have previously.

Why don't you build your bottom end? It will not decrease your times like crazy but it will help when you slap on that nitrous and shoot for low 10s high 9s!

I haven't had a stock bottom end give out yet. I'm a budget racer, doing more for less is my motto. Someone is going to have to convince me the stock bottom end is the weak link and its going to take a lot of convincing.

A whole new engine can be slapped in for approx $600 or less, how much does it cost to build an engine? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Do you know how many people have said the same thing about my stock auto trans? It pulls 1.6 60' times, I paid $400 for it 3 years ago and its like the Energizer bunny.

Building engines and trannies is like the dyno, highly over rated, although I did go 3 years ago. Everyone asks, how much HP and TQ? I haven't got the slightest idea, its not really important and not necessary.

I see too many people spending all their time building and dynoing their cars but never really get to have fun with them. I know some guys like the building part and thats ok, but for me, I would sooner race a rental and hit all the races vs spending all my time building and hitting a couple of T&T's.

Hold on a second.....if he is going to maxus with his car....then it means its street legal? A 10 second STREET LEGAL Maxima??? Think of the cars that can be beat on the street from a roll (a closed street of course) with more spray also too wow.....this car is amazing...

I plan on having a similar setup within the next year or so but with more spray and a built 3.5 and auto tranny.

Just do a VQ35 on a big shot.
I have a feeling you would never get around to building a 3.3 and putting it on boost and spray.

you have to meet the men to understand. I sooo much had the chance to meet jime yesterday at napierville's CSCS. He washed out everything in the streetwars and pure street classes (13.0 and 11.5).

Seeing the legend is a think to remember. i'll remember it for the rest of my life. Im a dedicated fan and been for a long time (since reading about him in sport compact car magazine). His car and working ethic/methodology is the way to do things the jime's way. Super impressive. He's cool headed and very kind, very dedicated (he had to do 7hour drive to get here and slept in a tent with torrential rains, can't believe!)

Amen Jime!!
