well iam just saying ive seen/raced against chris a couple of times and i find it hard to believe his could run low 13's with his/your Mods but your right you had a 1.9 60' which is a big Diff slicks and Street tires are a major Diff but what did you run with reg. Street tires and what was your timeslip??? (R/t, 60', 1/8, 1/4)??
60': 2.530
1/8: 9.535@81.96
1/4: 14.288@103.56
Note at the local 1/8th mile earlier this month I ran a 2.039 '60 and a 8.8@80.5 N/A with full exhaust (not open Ypipe) and I have trapped 100-101 N/A with full exhaust. Notice i really gained MPH opening the Y... I gained 1.5 mph in the 1/8th, and 3mph in the 1/4 from opening it.
I'm not sure why R/T matters whatsoever to you lol.
Now consider the normal "ricer math" for a 1/4 mile run as related to '60 foot is that every 10th off your 60 is good for 2 10ths in the 1/4. It normally works that way. Take a 1.9 '60 and a 2.4 '60 on the same car, and you will have around .7-1 second difference in ET. Add that in with me trapping a bit higher than him from smaller diameter/lighter tires (2" smaller diameter is huge for gearing) and my open Ypipe and it becomes very clear why I ran faster.
I find it funny that I post up slips, pic of my car with that number on it, and people still hint around at calling bull****. Sure, if I posted this up without proof, I could understand that... but cmon...

Dude I know how you feel... Man I kept running 14s for a LONG TIME. I ran 5 different 14 flats last time I went to the 1/4 mile track, and I KNEW it had high 13s in it on street tires... then I go this time, and take 1.3 seconds off my best ET on my first run, 1.6 by the end of the night, and .9 off my best N/A with no new mods but slicks and nitrous.

Yeah that was his 2.1 '60 foot of the night... I've seen him run mid/high 13s and some rogue low 14s with worse '60s. The torque management on those things seems to make for pretty good stock '60 foots if you drive them ok.
edit: that makes me wish I could get someone with a decent vid camera at the track with us. I met those dudes there with a camera but they haven't sent me the vids like they said.

Nice video. You forgot to stop at the staging beams.
Just a tip, doing a burn out past the beams is really dumb. Especially on street tires.

Yeah one of my boys snapped an axle in his 4th gen the other day taking a turn hard... but honestly, if your tires are WET from the water box, pulling the EB for a burnout is NOTHING CLOSE to the stress that a dry tire 4k launch is! You should be just fine doing that... Then you can drop the EB, and let it pull about 5 feet, then let off the gas and hit the brakes, and slide right up to the line... You can see an example from my crappy vid lol.
so your telling me you went thru the wet bok w/o burning out and still pulled a 2.1 60'
and as a wise man once told me as an ex. if you sit there and burn out regardless if its street tires or slicks your tires will heat up thus helping on your launch

All of my 2.0 '60 foots on street tires were pulled without even turning the tires over, just going around the water box and lining up.
Why would you go through a water box on street tires? lol

as I understand it, he doesn't use the launch control... it's total crap at the track. Slipping the clutch from 3-3.5k rpms and controlling wheelspin with throttle %age makes for a pretty solid launch in a manual car.
Now do you think that after I had PLENTY of time slips to post up of my runs, that we don't have the slips from his runs? They're out in the car and nobody feels like going out there atm, but if you want to call BS, it can easily be remedied with a little proof.

Just a heads up, the man you are referring to isn't very wise at all. Don't believe everything you are told until you confirm it your self. Show a little effort and do some research before you post. You are just making yourself look dumb on a public forum.

He has time slips in this thread, and he's been involved in a few of my member rides threads due to him helping me with installs. Should he make a fake maxima sig? As far as I understand, there's no restriction to who can be on the forum.

looool alright alright guys, don't get the thread locked.
Just as a final note, his 24k girls car is far faster than yours without a dollar spent in mods and a factory warranty

i never said there was any restriction or that he never helped any1 but dont try to come at me when iam telling you what i was told and that i felt that my tire was sticky not slippery after i ran dont the track
but keep in mind i spent 1600 for the car 400 for the motor 400 on the exhaust so thats 2400 invested w/o a car note just to run 1 sec slower
Sorry if I hurt your feelings. I just felt as if you needed some help after seeing your bad launch and your interesting staging technique.

and you have an old 1995 car. His is a brand new 2008 with, like i said, a factory warranty, and runs mid 13s totally stock. Sure it's comparing apples to oranges, but talking **** on his car when yours is slower, 13 years older, and in a vastly lower price bracket is pretty laughable.

my car works just as well as his does and i dont have to worry about paying some1 to keep my car and 24k for a cobalt is rape when you can get a faster more reliable car than that my boy already messed up his "drive by wire" and Chevy alrady have a recall on frukin rotors like chevy is a piece and they're ugly girl cars
i lined up with marcus' cobalt once that night and i think i pulled a better 60 foot, im normally pretty good at the 60s. i think i was in the general viscinity for a good 6 seconds.....then ZOOM!! he put busloads on me within a second or so. that cobalt is fassst. to me anyways. cant wait til he gets them launches down and pulls sub 2.0 60 foots, id like to see him battle sparks03max then.
on the Cobalt...all the tests and 1/4 mile posts I have ever seen for that car have been in the 14 flat range at 101-103 mph and your telling me your buddies is running 13.4 @ 108???
I have driven an '08 and it was a pooch, the launch control is a joke, the no lift shift I though was pretty neat though. And sparks, you should really not be getting walked by this guy with the trap speeds your pulling off. What is the sea level where you are at? So prove me wrong, I'm not starting an argument I would just like to see some proof, and don't post up a
slip of another guy at that track, I want to have some proof that it's his Cobalt....Oh yeah: http://www.dragtimes.com/Chevrolet-C...lip-15483.html
http://www.dragtimes.com/Chevrolet-C...lip-17087.html
The second time is still good for being stock but even with a time that good he still only trapped 104....hmmm wheres this 4mph coming from?
