honestly I think this is why everyone was questioning your mods, cause before you tuned your car with the vafc2 you only trapped at 96mph and even with the tune you only trapped at 99mph
and now your saying with the same mods at when you trapped 96mph all you did was install colder plugs and drop your y-pipe you picked up 10mph
I am not doubting the times just the mods although what you said about the smaller size of the slicks working out to much better gearing makes alot of sense. I did not know 5.5gen guys go thur the traps at around 4k, looks like jime was really on to something back when he had a 5.5gen

haha you're making this out as a joke, but I was really considering trading with one of the 5th gen guys for their slightly smaller front brakes before I said fk it and ground mine.
haha, but in all seriousness, what do SS owners do to use slicks? or is it just not possible at all? theres gotta be something they can do, do they really swap to smaller brakes like from a LS model or something?
If I want to go any smaller than a 17" wheel I will need to swap brakes. However, the LS models are a 4 lug and the SS are a 5 lug. So swapping brakes would come down to finding something that fits or making a bracket to mount the calipers.

Most people just run the 18" MT DR on the OEM wheels. Some people have been able to run 17" wheels with spacers for their winter wheels with snow tires up north. So that might be an option.

He had a properly tuned N/A 5.5 gen, like mine will be with the UTEC. I think the UTEC with all the tuning done right could pick me up that 2 mph that SR20DEN had over me back then with his TS reflash and tune.

Just to note, on my street tires (245/45/18) I trapped 103.6 N/A... so the diameter of the slicks made a HUGE difference in my trap speed.

It's a pretty obvious progression that has brought me to this point with my car, but the big change of slicks and nitrous with this last track visit is why the HUGE improvements happened.
So can anybody tell me what gives with all this? I mean in Jime's post, a few people called BS and said he was hiding mods b/c he ran a 10.8@125 with a 75 shot... OK, I get that...
I ran a normal N/A bolton + traction time, and a normal 75 shot + traction time, with plenty of proof minus ACTUAL videos, and plenty of people who are active on this forum who saw it and know what mods I have, and all this crap talk and BS calling? Sheesh...
I invite ANY of you guys to come inspect my car for mods and take a trip to the track with us to settle whatever has butthurt you about my post or times.

Regardless keep up the great work, there is always something new you can try to improve, just keep an open mind.

Hey Sparks, props to you man. I have no problem believing your times etc, I know we have a great engine to work with but there is still a lot of work necessary to get it down to your numbers. My best N/A 1/4 was 13.325 that is of course an auto and closed exhaust, but even with open exhaust it wouldn't hit a 13.1 good stuff. I wasn't quite as free to do mods on it as I am my 95 because it was a lease.

Thanks, that run was my 2nd worst '60 foot of the night, and I banged the rev limiter in first spinning b/c I didn't warm up the slicks enough, then short shifted into 2nd gear and bogged... Then it still ran a 12.6 lol! Take .2 off that '60 and lose the bog and maybe I'll pull a low 12

You can hear the epic-loud exhaust pops when I shut down after the traps.

Currently have a UTEC and TSX Tuner (wideband) sitting on my kitchen table getting ready to be installed, probably this weekend. After that I'm doing brakes all around, just brembo blanks, hawk HPS pads, and technafit SS lines. Then changing to eibach/illumina setup (instead of my progress/stock). Next will be clutch/flywheel (want to go baller here and get a twin disk so i can slip the **** out of it). After that is all out of the way I'll be piecing together a few more parts for my fuel system and will be installing the turbo setup. Not sure on timeline I'm not in a huge hurry, but my "final" goal on the stock block is somewhere in the 11s with 120+ traps.
After the UTEC is in and I have a rough tune finished, I'll be hitting the track for fine tuning (logging and watching traps for adjustments) and hopefully some high 12s N/A.

I'll end up spraying again later when I'm ready to top out (pop) the stock block. Next nitrous setup I'll be using a nano system, good controller, and probably direct port.
