Nmex, forgive me for this but what is throttle tip in. Ive looked and what i gather is it means is how the engine feels when you get on the gas from being off the gas. So im assuming what you are saying is with the helmhotlz it will feel like the engine responds quicker and better therefore giving the impression of "more power". Am i in the correct thinking?

Ya, that part is obviously subjective, but either way, I like the smoothness.

Hey 02max245, what did you run the 2nd time 'round there? Did you end up doing anything different w/ your intake etc?

Read the previous page, his latest posts for what he did. He hasn't posted what he ran a second time, or yesterday yet.

Under WOT is the only difference. What type of intake did you have before? I had a JWT/Berk hybrid. Holy hell, the IM for these cars make things really loud w/o that magic box .. the resonance, (same for the 4th gen).

(didn't I say I was done here???) .... oh cmax, what filter are you using on your intake I think I wanna change from a filter to that lil cone metal thing (don't know the name for it )
Are you talking about the AEM 6" filter.....and the bellmouth? BPI offer a composite or plasitc bellmouth also.....mines from Vibrant but bought thru Sport compact Warehouse

I had a diy make your CAI or SRI from the pipes you can buy at autozone. Had the SRI and then went to the CAI. I dont rememver the differences but seemed the SRI was a little better and still had the bottom end. I removed the screen in the MAF yesterday but did it so i can reinstall later. ALso i had the MAF positioned so the sensor was sitting horizontal and the plug was facing west looking at it. I rotated the MAF so the sensor was sitting vertical and now facing north and i swear i feel a difference. Not huge but just better TR and pickup. With the air box now on i like how it doesnt scream every time i get on it. Now i can hear the exhaust.
I decided to rotate the MAF due to this i read:

Not a maxima but same idea
http://www.musclemustangfastfords.co...rbo/index.html
"To help the car idle properly, we simply rotated the MAF sensor. Urist stated that turning the housing in a blow-through application changes how the meter reads the incoming air. Sure enough, he was correct; rotating the meter toward the outer fender made the engine idle leaner, while rotating it inward toward the engine caused the computer to richen the idle mixture. We saw it firsthand with the air/fuel ratio meter on Speed Dreams' dyno. It's all about how the air hits the sample tube."

Intake sound is minimal to me... exhaust sound on the other hand can be annoying... anyways without changing the thread topic can we stick to finding out how the other intake did???

Wow yeah, like half a second. That's respectable. What did you end up doing differently?

yes injen works o.k for most honda's, still way too much for an intake IMO... if you were to run a true cold air intake im sure there would be a pony or 2 here or there but just stick to the SRI in the maxima and dont stress yourself

I wasn't around on the forums when I ordered mine, and for some reason thought it was a true CAI, not a directly behind the radiator warm air intake. Took me about a week to do the berk-style conversion myself

Scarface, do the SSIM too. Lose a bit of lowend cause of our autos but nothing to noticeable, but my top end is very quick. Pulls pretty hard

oh yea i did the SSIM a day or so after the porting of the intake runners. ^^^^low end loss wasnt as bad as i thought it would be.. I noticed a loss down low but nothing that felt like it was a 4 cylinder. I just need some stuff to get it back like...lets see
3 in exhaust
intake spacers
SAFC
3 in maf (have it just need the safc first)

I already feel like up top the car will pull on anything ....

The loss is still there in any tranny form, I think he meant that it is more noticeable with 2 less forward gear, since the gears aren't so long in the MT.
