Do you fold your mirrors in when racing?

Since our mirrors are collapsable, do you fold them in when you race for more aerodynamics? I personally dont as I like to see the guy behind me.... (haha yeah right most the time I loose to a 10 second car...)

I did check it out but it makes more noise so probably less aerodynamic than with them out.

Ha! There's a certin someone on this board who I'm always at the track with (who will remain nameless, but you can figure it out), and he likes to think that folding his mirrors helps him.

Rather than folding in the mirrors, why not just completely remove the mirrors instead. Doubt it will make any difference though.

Folding in mirrors? IMO, I doubt it's worth much on a 14-second car. It might help when you're running 11s and below, but not 14s.

it'll help aero by about .0000001 of a second. if anything, removing it will save you a couple lb

Um, on some cars there is quite a substantial gain to be had in doing so. Its not that hard.

Some cars such as DSM's and GTP's have their intake right behind the headlight. By taking out the headlight you can provide a direct path for air to enter the intake, which would be far less restrictive than the stock path.

We could do the same thing if you relocated the battery.

Ahhhhh I was not thinking outside the 9 dots. You are right that would increase airflow.

I was thinking more in terms of this thread.....Aerodynamics. Like if you tried to do it with an older style firebird with the lights on...
