Another idea bust...

I posted a while back about finding a 5 speed in a wrecking yard here locally...

Well, I spent about 3 hours under that car this weekend, trying to pull some chassis parts from it, that got lost during my rack/pinion swap...well, that tranny has been apart at least once, and leaks like a seive. When I got home, I smelled of burned rubber and plastic (this car never had the injector recall done, but had a lot of other work doen to it prior to the big burn), gear oil (that heavy stuff that stinks - as that's what they had in there...smelled like limited slip oil, not standard gear oil), and antifreeze.

As a matter of fact, the rack and pinion in it was a new unit, straight from Nissan. Too bad I already had a new unit sitting at home.

There are a couple of good looking 3rd gen SE's available though. I just wish I had the money to try the strut/spindle swaps...

Depending on where you live, you could have got my car; all you have to do is replace the #2 valve, and you'd have a very decent car!

I'm in north Texas, where there seems to be a serious shortage of 2nd gen's...it's frustrating beyond belief...

If I could get yours, I'd just get my engine freshened, and drop it in that body...

lol, he's station in Germany right now. :P The car is near Baltimore I think. He used to live up in Ft. Lewis, Washington, which is about 45min to 1 hour away from where I live.

I knew he was in Germany, I was more concerned about where
the car was... guess I need to be a little more specific!

Thanks!
