no spark from ignition coil

My uncles 87 maxima doesnt have any spark in the spark plugs or coming from the ignition coil. What could this mean? The ignition coil was replaced and nothing changed.
Could there be some connection to the timing belt?
Any guidance is appreciated.

TIA

Possible that you have either a bad ignition coil or power transformer, bad distributor cables, or a bad crank angle sensor. I would test all those. Also you might want to go ahead and pull codes from the ECU. If it's throwing a code, it will help you pin point the problem.
