I know the 2 or 3 people who actually have 1st gen wont' check the classifieds so I just wanted to make an offer here.

A wrecking yard local to me has a 1984 Maxima. 4-door sedan, 5-speed manual, blue, and appeared to have a very straight body. A little damage in he rear but that's about it. I didn't pop the hood.

I'm going back on Sunday (March 12) to get some Z parts but if anyone is very serious about getting some parts and paying for them I will pull some stuff. (not a transmission though) Fenders, hood, engine parts, door glass, maybe some switches or whatnot. You pay shipping.

Post here or email me directly. This is one of those yards that hangs onto a car for about 4-6 weeks max. Its not a high demand car, they will crush it.

If you want something major and pay in advance, I may make another trip back in a week or two if its worth my time. (5-speed, or the engine head)

See what the cost for the fenders are, I can get aftermarket for $80 each.
What are the cost for the tail lights?
front bumper cover?
front nose trim?
Cost for that small metal section between the bumper and back of the truck.
cost for front lower valance panels?

Let me know on the cost and I will see what I want, thanks.

Fenders: $50 ea
Right Tail light: $20 (the other was smashed)
Trim and other misc items approx $10 ea

You can buy aftermarket fenders for $80 and pay $320 for shipping... they get you on the shipping. Unless you've found some place local to you that sells the panels.
I won't rip you off on shipping like that, but remember it will cost a bit for a box large enough to hold 1 or 2 fenders. Smaller items can go in with the fenders. Expect $70-150 DOL

I might also grab the clutch, brake, and gas pedeal cluster as I know that's a nessisary item for a 5-speed swap and unique to the Maxima.

Door glass: $25 ea
Doors I believe were only $40 or 50 ea

Oil Pan and Pickup?
I would be interested in the oil pan and the oil pickup tube depending whether or not that is something you are willing to mess with.

I'd like to be able to source them independently for my conversion so I do not have to remove my running L24e to get them before I do the L28E conversion.

If yes, let me know how much for parts & shipping. If too much of a hassle - no sweat...

can I even get the oil pan out without lifting the engine? You can't on the 280ZX.

I would assume not. It is shaped the way it is because it lays over the front crossmember.

Thanks for looking out for us. The 84's are few and far in between.

Yes, there is a local place here that will sell me the fenders.

What is the condition of the front lower valance panel (front and sides)?
Many times they get banged up, so unless it was perfect there is no point in taking it. Please let me know, and if you can take some pics.

If you do grab the pedal set, let me know, I am looking at an automatic 910 here and I may do the conversion. what would be the price of the pedal set?

I am going to do a little local shopping for some of the parts, but I may have to try to hit you up on some stuff later.

I was not able to make it out there this weekend. If I do go this coming weekend, I'll grab the pedals and lower front valance if it is perfect.
It doesn't sound like anyone is desparate for body panels so I'm not going to dump my own money into fenders that I may never sell. If this week anyone decides you do want fenders or a hood, then we'll need to arrange PayPal payment ahead of time. I have no idea what the pedal set will cost but I will buy it and I know I can resell that item to someone. Its pretty rare.

Can anyone think of any common dash or interrior switches that go bad or break? I'm sure right after they crush this car I'll get 10 requests for parts

I'll keep you in mind while I'm looking. How far do you want to travel to get one?

There is one on Collectorcartrader.com in California. It is an 84 sedan with 80 something thousand miles. It was still for sale the last time I checked

Somebody say 1st Gen 4Sale?
I've got an 84 that I am looking to sell to the right person.

141,xxx, runs, drives well, needs some minor work but nothing major. Never wrecked, good body all around with the normal dents and dings that accompany a 22 year old car. Auto. Blue 2-tone. Blue interior.

In Denver, CO

Hi there... I'm new but have a quick question...
does it have a digital dash? That's something I'd
love to install in my '84.

My 84 did not have a digital dash.

I have only seen one in the JY, probably 4 years ago.

It was only available with the leather package with gas cars. Rare, and our cars are pretty rare in general - at least where I live.

Yes... they're very rare anywhere. And they were only sold in
the USA (and in Canada?) Everywhere it was just a
"snub-nose" Bluebird.

If I win the lottery I'm going to get an Australian Bluebird. In
1983 they still made them wiht RWD and a 4dr hardtop was
optional. As in pillarless hardtop!

Check this out:

NOW THAT's RARE!

I love 4-door hardtops. Most people do not even
know what the heck a hardtop is these days. Most
of the time people think of a hardshell fiberglass
roof for a Corvette or Miata.

Hopefully later on this year I can sell my Camaro and
pick up a Flat top Fifty-9 Buick. It's been a dream of
mine to own one of those for years. I'll have my
"classic" Japanese Rally Car & a Finned Yank Tank
from the 50s.

Oh yeah... BTW, they also made a 2dr hardtop 910 that was sold
in Japan, Australia & I think Europe too.

Also very cool if you ask me. (not that you did)
