Shifter cable

So a few weeks ago , The car started acting really weird, Like it shift really hard and such , And after a while , Then i had it in drive , any thing after 2500 rpm , It would act like i am in n , So took it to the mechanic , And he said it was the shifter cable , So i bought one , And then he let me use his tools and shop to install it , so about 30 mins ago i got finished , He lost the rubber peice ( I forget what you call it ) that the top part of the shifter cable that is up in the engine bay when you connect the shifter cable to the lever on the gear box. So he rigged up a metal one , And he said it would work fine , BUT my car is basicly the same , I mean when having it in drive , I can drive it regular up untill about 3500 rpm , But then i have to put it in 2nd , Untill up till around 50 mph , Then put it back and drive , And i can drive it alight , With light pressure to the gas pedal , And i can take it up to around 75 mph , Untill it starts acting like its in , n agian.

So what do you think is up ?

Damn I was gonna go to the megameet this weekend too. Have you ever been to one? I got tickets to the Mason Final Four game so no megameet for me. Maybe next month.
