1995 fuel injector recall

Hello all I've been to the site a few times but never posted. I've been reading a few threads on the recall they had for the 87 maxes. Did some research and hope this helps anyone that hasnt had this done yet. The recall involves the fuel injection system. Fuel leaks in the engine could result in a fire. The recall was iniated on 29 Nov 1995. It affects all Maximas manufactured from 07/1984 through 07/1989. The NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID # is 95I006000. Just in case anyone needs to reference this. Im trying to figure out now how to find out if the previous owner had this done, so Im going to call my local dealer. If he didnt get this work done then the nissan dealer will replace the fuel injectors and related hoses. If you want to read what I did go to www.NHTSA.dot.gov and there you can check the database. You just put in the year, make, and model. and it will list it for you. Well hoped this helped a few of you out.

I have a 1989 and was hopeful I was covered with a manufacturing date of 3/89 when I read the cars.com site.

THis is a little deceptive as to years covered...

This is more precise

Hope this is helpful to others.

well, at least he posted some useful info, instead of posting a "wow, i didn't know" type of thing to get post count up. If people bump old threads, they get flamed. if they don't search, they get flamed. Since he searched, he found an old thread that had info he was looking for, and he could add to, and he still gets grief.

I think you can actually install 1989-92 VG fuel rail on the 2nd gen Maxima to upgrade it from it's multiple rubber hose disease....

Sooo...a car that has not had this done would have rubber hoses connecting the fuel injectors to the fuel rail, along with rubber hoses connecting the bottom (IE closer to engine) of the injector back to the fuel rail? Instead of solid, metal connections?

Good lord, I don't think this has been done on my car. Thanks Frogger for the light afternoon reading.
