Who out there has a performance intake installed on there 2nd Gen? Got a friend of mine who's got the cleanest 2nd Gen, I've even seen....And we're gonna eliminating the restrictive Oem intake setup with a shortram or shortram CAI but include all necessary bungs and pipes for the AIV and other intake vacuum supported items (4 ea)iirc....also will try to fit my old 3rd gen exhaust manifolds and ypipe just to see if it is possible to eliminate that restrictive exhaust system (crossover setup)! If the 3rd gen exhaust components clear the crossmember and trans the way I'm thinking it will....we should be able to fit some headers on this setup as well!

3rd gen exhaust manifolds and ypipe fitted on a 2nd gen....not a 1st gen.

I don't think the 3rd gen exh mani will fit the rear bank. I believe its very little clearance between the oil filter and drive axle to route the exhaust.

I'm sure the oil filters/adapter and driveshafts positions are the same the difference is in the Xmember...But maybe I can swap in a 3rd Gen Xmember n2 a 2nd Gen...VG Sohc is a VG Sohc....head and blockwise the engine are identical! The IM and EM are different and restrictive...and I'm sure if the 3rd Gen EM clear all obstacles a ypipe will be easy to fabricate....see the oil filter w/adapter in the 1st post

The oil filter isnt like how 3d gens are, it screws directly to block and not at angle like 3rd gens. Also clearance between the rear head and firewall is smaller than 3rd gens too.

my buddy's 87 has the adapter which angles the filter upward...seems to be very similar!
