Added another Maxima '84

I saw this car for sale but it was too far away so I bought the '87 SE for my son locally. Well, combing through craigslist I saw the same car but it said it was in the next town over. I figured they were just advertising everywhere but to my surprise it had been brought out there. '84 no rust, no dents, no rips or tears. Dash has three cracks but other than that it's good. I was told it had a 280Z swap and they converted it to a 5 speed. It all works flawlessly. A/C blows cold, the only thing that does not work is the antenna and oh the voice. It is also missing two wheel centers. Got all the books and even came with the original window sticker. I remember the '84 model as it was my mothers first brand new car and then she bought the '87 when it came out. Neat car but I don't think she'll let me keep them both. My son fell in love with the '87 and my '69 F100 keeps the last open garage space. Going to clean it up and try to fix the voice and antenna. It came with three boxes of stuff and the original radio is on one of the boxes. It also needs a manifold so I'm going to fix that. After than maybe she'll let me keep them both. It is a neat car. Let me know what you think.

I need this piece. If anyone knows where to get one please let me know. I would consider a header if they are available.

Nice Max.

Those seats almost look like they belong in someone's living room, not a car. haha They do look comfy though.

Are both the Datsun and Nissan badge original? I wouldn't think that both name tags would be there...

Good luck with the minor repairs.

Nice looking first gen! I saw it on craigslist about a week ago. If you come across another nice center console like yours please let me know. I am still curious to know which engine is actually in your car.

Same with 2nd gens, they are cozy inside. Many of times I've sat in them in the junkyard with the doors closed to take a break.. Nobody every touches them and they are usually really clean inside.

Thanks for the compliments. I'll look into the header. The car runs good. I think it I may swap the plugs and do other tune up thing. Drives and handles like it is supposed to. It drove over the summer with ac on for 300 miles with no issues. Can't wait for the manifold and getting this car on the road.

You are right, those 85-88 GL/GXE seats are really nice and look like something at a Lazy-Boy store like the 1st gens but more plush looking. Very comfy with all of those buttons in them etc, and 1st and 2nd gens were the only Maximas to have the tilt seat cushion button for the passenger side. All since are only 4 way adjustable on passenger side.

Just Curious

How much did you pay for this, if you don't mind me asking... I have one on my radar here in the Pacific northwest for around 2500, in comparable condition, leather interior, and digi dash. The paint however not so great, just clearcoat going. No dents or rust. Any idea if thats reasonable?
