Just bough an 87 Maxima GXE

Hey guys,

Found the forum yesterday before I bought the car, and thought I'd sign up and see if I can get some help when needed. its an 1987 Maxima GXE Auto, Has the digital dash the silly voice alert thing and all the power options. Purchased with 177k miles which I'm now realizing could be significantly more as the Speedometer/Odometer only works intermittently. Stared at a 0MPH speed all the way home from the car lot and as I pulled into my driveway it started working again. So anyone with a similar issue feel free to reply .

As far as my plans for it.. Its gonna be my daily driver so nothing too crazy. Seems to shift fine and drives fine. Might take some getting used to the suspension as it starts feeling reaaaaall floaty over 60 hitting bumps/etc. For now I plan on doing a full tune up, debating on updating the fuel rail to 89-94 or w/e, dropping in cloth air filter, and I may take the time to do the stanza TB conversion. If it holds up I'd like to do a high flow cat and a catback exhaust as well, but right now prioirty is just standard stuff buying a car with so many miles. Plugs, wires, oil/oil filter, air filter, and undecided on whether or not I want to mess with transmission fluid yet. I've heard it can get scary on Autos. Like people changing it out and it stops working afterwards or causes more problems.

Any help or insight anyone can provide will be very much appreciated. This is the first older car I've owned and I'm coming down from a 2017 Z71 Sierra so its a bit of an adjustment for me lol.

Edit: Also have a Haynes Manual on the way so hopefully I won't bother anyone with anything too much lol.
