E-Brake snapped

I was working on my 87 SE replacing the speedo cable since my last one broke. Once I got it done, I was pulling the hand brake and the cable snapped. I was like oh god "what is it this time" moment. So I had to crawl under the car to see what cable broke and it was driver side, I was annoyed to find that I can not find a replacement anywhere, even Rockauto don't have it, but if look for 86 see if they are the same and they are not and I can't find left and right side even Nissan don't stock them anymore. What gives?

Our cars are old and the e-brake cable is not a common part, so they don't stock them anymore. You probably have to use a universal e-brake cable kit .

I've looked at it, it won't work since it takes a lot of modification to connect to the caliper as well the center handbrake

Partsouq has a catalog with the OEM Nissan part numbers still active but it looks like they're out of stock for all of the cables. You will have to search the part number and see if anyone has old stock or patch up your broken cable or get a custon one made

finally I got a e brake cable from a junk yard waiting it out for almost a year, and got both side replace for extra measure of assurance and it's all worked out since I was getting tired of putting wheel chock each time since the car is 5spd and i did not want to put strain on the tranny when it's locked into first gear. So now i'm happy and pleased that I don't have to use the wheel chock everytime.
