window problem

today i tried to roll down my driver side window, and it didnt go.i played with the switch a little and pushed it repeditively and the window came down. then it started to not come down at all, so i hit the switch with my hand a cpuple times, not hard but just enough, and it came down. but now it doesnt even come down no matter what. and i could here the clicking noise all the time, (when you press the button it makes that little click noise) so i dont think it could be dirty connections, and if i could hit the switch panel with my hand a little and it worked, i dont think it would have anything to do with the regulator. i checked to see if everything was plugged in and it was. so i dont know whats up.

I think it may be your regulator on its way out.

take off the door panel and have a look, it's easy enough to do in 20 minutes or so for the first time

most likely thats gonna be ur regulator messing up. I bought mine from the dealer and installed it with my cousin. But what Craig said it doesn't take that long trust me.

maybe not regulator

I had a similar prob with my drivers side window. Thought it was regulator, took it to a dealer, they gave me some crap that the window was off the railing or something... and it woul cost $180 to fix.

I said screw that, and popped it open and tried to see if I could tell if the regulator was busted or something. Never could.

Took it to another mechanic and he replaced the main window control, door lock switch and whaddya know, works like a charm.

So although regulators are a common thing to go wrong, sometimes those switches go out as well.

New the part cost me $112, but maybe you could get a used one.

My window still "clicked" whenever I pressed the button to roll it up.

by the way

I actually replaced the switch myself at one point (got is for $40 from someone off the org) but I guess the one I bought was busted as well.

Which sucked for me, b/c I ruled out the switch as being my recurring problem w/ the window.

But anyway.. i replaced the switch myself, it is easy as pie, take the door panel off, and unplug that fellow and replace.

did the same thing, replaced the switch, and it worked fine for a while, but then i started to have problems. this is weird, now my windows can be rolled up, but sometimes they dont roll down.
