Canadian Car????

Ok, I bought my Maxima in October '01 from a dealership, and they bought it from the original owner. The dealer told me that the car was orginally supposed to go to Canada, but along the way, it was sold in Appleton, WI. I need your help to figure out if my car is Canadian. Are there any signs that it would be? By the way, my car is not in km/h, it is in mp/h. It is a 5-speed. It's non-ABS w/ driver's airbag(if this helps any) Thanx!!

Re: Canadian Car????

If the car is in Km then its canadian if its Mph its usa, unless you have a digital dash, which can be switched by the push of a button. On the drivers side door pillar it should tell you if its passed by which countries safety regulations. That will tell you for sure.

OOookay, as a Canadian Max owner here's some signs:

Do you have automatic or manual, height adjustable seatbelts?
Do you have daytime running lights (lights come on lowbeam 1/2 power when engine is running)?
What kind of stereo system do you have? Bose or something generic-looking that has Active Speaker on the rear speakers?
Do you have automatic climate control?

Your turn.

Manual, no height adjustable seatbelts, no daytime running lights, Bose, no auto climate control.

Well, what I meant was automatic or manual seatbelts. ie, do you have to buckle yourself in or do they try and strangle you?

Canadian Maximas have good old fashioned normal seatbelts and are height adjustable, but it sounds like you've got a pure US Max.

...and I think it affects the drag coefficient ratio since the cooler air up North is more dense (or maybe it's just ME that's more dense for even going THERE)

I should've bought a US car - then I'd have 291 HP at current exchange rates. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

wow, didn't mean for this thread to get ugly!!! I was just kiddin', about not wanting my max to be canadian. Even if it was, a maxima is a maxima either way you look at it.
