Could it possibly have something to do with the electronic suspension kit? Does your car even have or did it have the electronic suspension? That would be one of my guesses.

i think it has to do with the engine the car has, probably all vgs have it. also if anyone is feeling like their car is not complete without one i will sell mine $30 plus shipping

I'll take it, it's a cheap way to lower the car without new shocks and struts.

Delete it so you can yell at the next nooby for creating an already covered thread. We came to the conclusion that it does nothing and it is present in all 1990 SE's.

my 89 se auto has that cylinder in the trunk but my 90 se 5 speed doesnt i dont know what it was but one car came with it stock and the other came with out it stick i noticed when i tryed to switch trunk carpets and the 90 didnt have a cut out for it. must have just been in certain ones i dunno????

anyone have one of these on a se auto? if its there it must just be some sort of counterweight for the auto.

Hi,

i think the 89-91 gxe have the hump in the back of the trunk but the 92-94 gxe don't have them,

mine is a 90 so it has one in the back,
