Ok, I just payed for school, and I have almost no money
But, where I live, all the newest, coolest stock maxima's are all owned by old people. COme to think of it, most of the maximas here are owned by old people. So I see some nice maxima, 290hp or so cruising down the street at 15m under the speed limit, and I just gasp. OOoh, how I'd like a new maxima. But I'm happy with what I got Only thing is, there are so many clone cars! You look at, what 50 cars, and like almost 1/2 of them can look almost identical. What I want, is a car that people will kind of realize differently. Like "hey, thats ____'s car!".
I don't want somethng like a big blowup clown riding on the roof tho...
Anyone know some little mods, that I can do myself, or little things, like where to get those big white stickers for the front of the windsheild for pretty cheap?
I don't really "have to", but I'd really like to be working on the maxima when I can't be driving it(been getting fairly bad gas milage, 1/4 a tank a day for a trip to school(15-20miles, 30-40 round trip)
But INDIVIDUAL.... :P
I want to put a rear spoiler on(didn't come with one) sooner or later, I know the really big ones would stand out better, but the smaller ones look classier.. but they are probably more to get/put on then I currently can spend($30-$60). EVERYTHING on my 91 maxima right now is stock, 'cept the steering wheel cover

i get what hes saying...he wants his car to stand out in a crowd, be its own, be an "individual"...not just "another 4th gen with red/clears and a stillen kit" for example Thats why theres DIY mods and originality, creativity - use them to your advantage

Ouch you guys are harsh man! Be nice. doomtoo, just step back an dlook at the car. Get a vision of what you want and do it. It's easy to be rice and bolt on big wing, body kit etc. The nicest cars are the ones that use subtle styling changes that enhance the lines of the car. Just my opinion. I like no wing no body kit smooth look. If you have low cash flow, just keep it clean and running it's best. Make the best of what you have.

Re: Can you make a individual vehicle with little cash?
The best way to make yourself look cool is to find out why your car runs like s**t.Cool people keeep their cars running.Putting a bunch of crap on your car will not make it look cool. When you do get it fixed use the money your not spending on gas on new wheels and tires and some drop springs.Maybe a good stereo and subs would be a good mod for you.Whatever you do use the money you have now to buy a clue and use the search before you ask dumb questions.

The only post so far that answers his question...
Welp, since not many people are positively posting (Altho I do agree about getting it fixed up first) there are some things I've seen that not many people have done.
1) I saw a post a couple months back (Sorry, don't know by whom or where it's located except somewhere here in the 3rd gen archive) about doing some stuff with photoshop to make a sticker that goes on the INSIDE portion of the backpanel on the trunk... The part that says "Maxima" in the center. What the sticker does is black out everything but the letters, and then you re-wire the brake light so it fits in there. Then, whenever you hit the brakes, the Maxima logo lights up in red as well (it's something I'm considering)
2) Clear the tail lights (Someone was saying it's possible, again, you'll need to search on it) and replace the white bulbs with red ones.
3) Colored headlight bulbs? I think the green ones look pretty good.
4) I have a set of windshield washer LEDs, still in box... Bought'em then decided I didn't want to put them on (They're blue, I like green) some people will razz you for them tho... You could even hook them up to your blinkers.
5) I have a schematic drawing for the lights from Knight Rider... I always thought they would be cool as hell, and only costs about $5 at Radio Shack for the parts
6) License plate covers (Favorite sports team or military)... I miss my Navy cover <sniff>
7) Hook up a decent system... My pioneer HU and speakers cost about $250 altogether, and people always ask me, "Whatchoo got for a system"... I feel cheap when I say "Nothing but a HU and speakers... So far..."

Lost my steam... But there's my $0.17 (Damn inflation...)

Supercharger my man... Even if it's a low end...
255hp + 60hp = 315hp... and that's before i/y/3" pipe...
I'm still working on the plans for a 5th gen Cobra Killer.

You really need to calm down, its not that serious son. Granted the person who started this thread should have thought things thoroughly before touching the keyboard and posting mindless crap but at the the same time you should do your homework before you jump down anyones throat. There are a selected few 3rd gen out there with serious modifications that include turbo but you would know that if you searched.

Maximas are classified as 4-door family sedans(I love the Max as much as any enthusiast)but buy no means are our car luxury-sports cars.

-don't let my status fool you
