Timing Belt Replacement

I went to replace the timing belt, wheelwell cover, the three ext. acc. belts, idler pulley, crank pully and the strut are off (I was replacing struts). The top left hand timing belt cover would not clear the AC hose just next to it. Do I have open the AC system for this? The two manuals I have for 2nd and 3rd gens do not mention anything about the AC for the R&R of the timing belt. 1992 GXE Maxima 4 speed auto.

no you shouldn't need to. i replaced the belt on my 91 gxe auto and it didn't have to remove any a/c stuff.

No, shouldn't have to remove any a/c hose in order to do this.

Just unclamp the hose and gently move it out of the way. I've done that on mine with no problem.

Haynes 1985 - 1991 ( for my 87 GXE )
Chilton 1985 - 1992 ( for my 92 GXE )

Both are lacking in some details, I'm going to buy a Haynes for 3rd Gen only. Ebay has had some ture factory manuals go for around $50, what do you think?

well i hear the factory manuals are the best, they give the most detail, but the only problem is that they are much more expensive then the other two. If you could get your hands on one though it would help more probably, not only with what you are trying to do, but with other things.
