how many bulbs did you see when you replaced the other one?

There is only one bulb, 9004

Please dude, just combine all your questions into one post or something

you dont have to create a new thread to increase your post count

You can buy other number bulbs, but I'm pretty sure they wont work correctly or fit. Not 100% though

89 GXE, but same car as yours minus some cosmetic things.

I have some 9004 bulbs made by Vision that I got from a local speed shop around here. They are about a year old and show no signs of fading from the blue color. They are illegal, but cars are getting to the point where H.I.D.'s are becoming standard, so I dont know how that will affect any of the illegal aspect in the future.

Just an FYI.. sugarland, TX is in the Houston area.

All 3rd gen headlight bulbs (and maybe the early 4th gen, but don't quote me on that one) use 9004 bulbs.. They have the low and high beams both in the one case.

The BMW lights use 9005 and 9006 for separate low and high beams. I forget what the 9007 bulbs are, but then they go to H4 and some other funky stuff too.

HID lights are a completely different type of deal, and they're blue because they emit fewer orange light colors and more blue and yellow stuff... It's supposedly easier for our eyes to see than the dingy brown stuff produced by incandescent (regular filament burning) bulbs.

the blue (and superwhite) 9004 style lights are all simply just regular bulbs with blue tinting in the glass to supposedly make them look like the HID lights. only difference is the turn the ground blue, instead of helping you see better. they also usually have to use high wattage bulbs because the blue tint absorbs much of the lgiht... which is why the stock bulbs are 45/65W for low/high, and the cheap aftermarket ones are 65/80 or 85/100W. either one of the high wattage bulbs will cause your headlight harnesses to burn up over a long period of time. search on high-wattage lights and other related topics for more info on this problem, and how to fix it (other than leaving the stock bulbs in)

Nah man, i feel you, im a freakin newbie, and have been using this site for a year, and singed up about 6 months ago. i dislike the lack of respect. Like... being a newbie automatically makes you unknowledgeable about the Maxima.
