First, remove the back speakers and place them under your dog's house. That's all their good for.
Next, run your own speaker wires to the back speakers. I tried using the factory harness but decided it wasn't worth the hassle of going around those cheesy amps (on the SE). This solves the problems for the rear speakers.
Next, I defeated the amplifier in the front Bose speakers. At first I took the speakers out and saved them. Then 7 yers later I realized that these were REAL Bose speakers. I unhooked the amplifier by opening the enclosure and placing a standard wire on it and running the lead through the bass port. Kind of goofy looking but works like a charm, and beats any other speakers you may try like 6 1/2s.
Next, hooked up the speakers with the car wiring. Didn't feel like running through the tunnel in the door.
Finallly, remove the factory radio. I gave mine away to my uncle who couldn't use it in his GXE model.
After I completed all of the steps listed above, added additional amps, 4 ga battery wire, and power amps mounted on a board, all ran fine..
Happy hunting..
