2k2 Muffler

I know this has been discussed before, but I couldnt find anything in the search. Heres my questions:

1. Is there any sound increase?
2. Is there nay power increase?
3. What mods has to be done in order to fit thet muffler?
4. For those that have them on your car, What is your opinion on the muffler? Is it worth the price?

By the way I have a 89 VG
Sorry if this thread bothers anyone.

i heard they are really good. when the valve is closed they are nice and quiet and when the valve opens you gain some power and have a nice growl. the only downside from what i hear is it's only has a 2 inch diameter hole. you would just need to take it to an exhaust place and have them weld it on.
a good muffler brand to try is maagnaflow. i bough mine and it made such a difference! i was so happy. sounds good, defanately helped on performance.

btw, you might want to shorten your sig. it's really really big and more than likely the mods will give you trouble about it.

1. Yes, sounds a little deeper IMO
2. Nothing to write home about.
3. You need to bend a pipe to match the b-pipe outlet to the muffler inlet (this is not a bolt on mod!)
4. I have the 2k1 SE muffler - I think it looks awesome and sounds better than stock. Only problem is that since it is bigger than a stock muffler, it sticks out a little bit and can become unhinged from one of the muffler hangers occasionally.

Check my website for a pic.

Nay on the power increase, unless you have a heavily modded engine with stock exhaust. From what I hear it sounds nice and mellow until you get up in the rpm range, stock sound at idle. Save your $$ and get a WSP y-pipe..that will make a big power difference. By the way, Ilove that song, but why a sig?

Thanks for the tips so far. I have one other question, How much do the run to get new and what do most muffler shops charge to put it on. Sorry about the sig. I could get any pics to work so I put up the next best thing.

i would check your local muffler shop for magnaflow. i got mine cheaper at the shop + installation than most internet prices. the 2002 you might be able to find on ebay or try the 5th gen forums.

Well it seems like there no shop that carries Magnaflow, and even though I am in the middle of redneck country, some have never even heard of the name. Can any of you guys reccomend me a site that carries them or a muffler shop chain that might have them? What exactly is done to make the muffler fit, and what is the average price to have one installed. Thanks for your help.

the muffler would need to be welded on by a shop. my brother got his "N1 muffler" welded on around here for 30 dollars. It could be different depending on where you live. i'm not really sure of the best place to find the magnaflow mufflers on the internet. you may try jegs or nopi but i'm not sure.

What size is the end of the pipe that the muffler attaches to, is it 2" or 2 1/4"?
