HAS ANYONE REPLACED A 5-SPD in92se??
I have a 92 Maxima SE w/ limited slip 5-spd transmission... I am picking up a used tranny and replacing it soon,... I have never done any kind of tranny work ever.. Can anyone give me some pointers or tips about the best way to do this and what other things i'll need or should replace at the same time?
Thanks,

Replace clutch, resurface flywheel, lube the release bearing well. I stress this. Have a helper to remove and position it for reinsallation. If you aren't going inside the trans, this should be it. Oh, and spend extra time cleaning the clutch housing on the trans. Super clean is best. If you can go the input shaft seal too that would be good. Good luck

I'm just wondering what you paid for that LSD transmission. I replaced my LSD 5-speed about a year ago and I paid about $700 shipped. It took me over 2 weeks to find an LSD trans! Also, make sure that you use the right gear lube for the trans. I believe that our cars that GL-3 or GL-4...someone else know for sure??

you can get them w/ or w/o LSD.
you can't change the input shaft seal. you'd have to crack the case open to do that. be sure to replace the rear main seal on the engine and both axle seals though. also replace the shifter linkage seal and the boot on it. lube your shifter linkage bushings too.
