Gas in tank when level is on E?
Gas in tank when level is on E?
Hey guys, another question
How many gallons/miles are left in the tank when the fuel indicator comes on and the level is on E? Cuz i know some cars have like 60 miles left when the indicator comes on. Any ideas?

Don't forget though
That the indicator is not sitting on the bottom of the tank, and you have to account for room to pressurize, so you'll probably only put 16 or 15.9 gallons in it ever, but that means you can only effectively use 15.9 or 16 without getting into a serious serious serious risk of running out of gas.
just some food for thought!

I've also been cautioned not to run the car to empty
because (1) it's bad on the injectors and (2) it's bad
on the fuel pump. I think that in both cases, these
devices count on the gas to keep them cool.
I'm sure a few folks here have run their cars dry before
without noticing any lasting bad effects, but I don't
even want to think about having to drop the gas tank to
replace a fuel pump or pop for a bunch of new injectors.
My wife always gets antsy when the low fuel light comes
on and I keep driving. I tell her that so long as we
don't have another 60 or 70 miles more to go, we'll be
fine...
