hey i am new here and i have a few questions. i just got my 91 max GXE it has 170,000 on it and i got it for $1500.00 which i think is a pretty good deal. i will post a pic a soon as i can. my question is does anyone think i can fit 2 8" subs in the rear deck in a free air configuration. i was thinking 2 jl audio IB4 8's, i also have 3 10w6's. also did the interior change from 89 to 94?

If you want, you can fit all three 10w6s in the rear deck.. it's just a lot of fabrication work, and you'll want to brace the bejeezus out of it, but it'll work..

I'm planning on dumping a pair of 12s back there myself sometime fairly soon.

and yup.. that's a pretty good deal on the car.. I just hope it's in good shape and doesn't have any "hidden problems" which is often in cars of that price..
welcome, and good luck with the system!

Yeah, you should definately have no problem with putting all the 10's in the rear deck. But just like Matt said, I'd recommend either bracing it VERY WELL, or using the current deck as a template and making a newer, more sturdy back deck using 1/2" or 3/4" MDF. As heavy as those JL Audio magnets are, you'll find 'em literally 'IN' the trunk if you don't do that. Good luck, and welcome to the forum!!
