i have some Sylvania SilverStars in my max right now. They give off a good 4000k light color output. they are clearly whiter than stock. Spent about 50 bucks for two at Autozone. BUT these are not the whitest light output. i didn't wanna attract cops

I am going to have to agree with matthew on this one. Why are you trying to find the blub with the most blue painted on it for the least amout of light output?

I like a bright, white light... but BLUE? Are you sure you mean blue and not bright white?? Oh well, if they're for show then okay, but I bet anything as blue as what you're talkin about is also illegal.

Blue Headlights

I want some "blue" headlights that are similar looking to the Xenon headlights on the Lexus', BMW's, etc. I don't want a white headlight cuz I already went through some of those and they didn't work out so greatly as these Nokya's (that are starting to fade out) have been for me? But, if you guys can convince me enough on white headlights, I just might try them out?

If you want HIDs like Lexus, BMW, etc, then save up and buy them. don't buy cheap blue bulbs. you obviously don't have enough experience driving to know what proper night vision is. just take our word for it on this one. stay away from blue bulbs.

the silverstars are some sweet headlights. i have them in my bmw brights and they are really really bright. they aren't blue like the HID's which you would have to spend over 500 dollars to convert, but they do pretty good (and they better for 50 dollar headlights)

Them blue bulbs sure makes your headlight look kinda like those true HID headlights on luxury cars, at least at a glance (though I can always tell the difference). But that's only from the outside, i.e. for other people looking at your car. From the inside, though, i.e. from the driver's point of view looking at the illumination on the road produces by these blue bulbs, they're nowhere near. In fact they're not even as good as regular, garden-variety DOT approved bulbs (believe me, I've tried). I guess these blue paints must really absorbs a lot of lights!

So if you want people to think that your car have HID headlights (in other word, for show), get the blue bulbs. But if your interest is to get better illumination of the road, i.e. for safety, stay off the blue bulbs.

There are bulbs with very light blue tint on them, they're better, they just produce real white lights that makes standard bulb look yellow in comparison, but far from blue. Some vendors call them super white, but other vendors call the really blue bulbs super white. So you have to look at a picture of the bulb to be sure. I think the Silverstar is one of these bulbs, and I've heard good things about them. So does the PIAA. They're hideously expensive though!

I myself prefer high-wattage clear or light-blue tinted bulbs.

...or you can just buy my Nokya's. (only had 'em for a month, but I don't like the look so I put my CuZo's back in) I'm saving up for HID's to put in mine.

yes. I have also gone the poor misguided direction of the blue bulb. You should either buy a better wiring harness and true HID or you should just buy reglar bulbs and spray paint them to cut your losses. Also if you do get blue bulbs, dont get them off of ebay, those are the worst of all. .

I have FX bulbs in mine and they have a blue bulb too but the light output is nowhere near blue, even when you look into the headlight from the outside. I got these because we all know that the beam pattern on our cars suck and yes, i tried about every high output "hyper Rice" bulbs out there and these are the whitest and brightest i've seen to date. And they've lasted me almost a year and i drive about an hour a day at night. As for trying to match the corner bulb, don't even bother trying.

bluelights

Maybe people are confusing things between hyperwhite and blue lights.

I had Cuzco hyper white lights and they are 10 times better than the stock lights they give off more light I noticed a big difference when I saw signs at night they woiuld light up much brigghter than befor and they look tight as hell when you were standing infront of hte car I aslo had hyperwhite foglights that I bought from autozone that matched my headlights perfect. they werent like really that blue they where very bright white with a hint of blue in them and that looks tight as hell. If you think that that is rice then thats your opinion but It looks a lot better than stock. Hands down!!! But those of you who said so HID is still better.

In my 90 max I have a pair of eurolight superblue headlights. they've been in my car for over a year and they give that nice blue tint like you are looking for. They are a lot brighter than the sylvanna's regular halogen (with the light blue tint) headlights but I dunno about the silverstars. I can see fine while I drive at night but I pray that it doesn't rain cause I can't see a damn thing when it rains. The only problem I've had is that my sockets melt after so long (about 6-8 months later) because they run so hot. The sockets at my local pepboys for about $6 each and the headlights I purchased at a local speed shop for about $20-25 (I don't remember exactly how much).

HID are definitely worth it. There is no bulb that compares to the real thing. Here is a pic of my kit.

The best lights to buy for the true blue lights is the actual Xenon Lights which are gonna cost you, ive seen them from $800 to $2000

But I bought some really blue ones a while back look on ebay, they are 9004 (true Xenon Lights that you see on the Mercedes etc and the New Maxima's are nothing like the old light you have to totally change your lighting system, look up Xenon Lights on Yahoo and look around) but my lights are blue blue they have the blue tint on the bulb really blue tint not the light tint because i tried those and didnt like them, but i bought mine pretty cheap look em up on ebay

PIAA EXTREME whites will do the job. VERY white and cost around $80. IMO i wouldnt pay $300+ for headlights.

just make sure your wire harness will take the extra heat...some cheap xenon charged bulbs can melt our wiring harnesses...

xenon's are the bomb! i have xenons in my BMW and i also upgraded to the philipps 6000k's. they're pretty sick. i'm so used to them, that i find it hard to see driving my maxima w/ the halogens. they're worth the money.

my lights are also blue glass and contain a little xenon gas mine are much brighter and look alot light HID, but as for the purple ones, if you could take a pic id like to see what they look like but ill stay with the blue, also i tried a type before the Xenon 9004 they were Krypton and Xenon Gas, well these bulbs were blue also this let me know that the Xenon 9004 really had some Xenon gas and not just the blue glass tint, because each bulb is the same color, but the krypton doesnt have a blue output, its just really white some yellow wasnt happy with them
