New Stereo Problems

I have an 89 Maxima, and just replaced my factory cassette stereo with a new Blaupunkt 55x4 CD deck. It seemed for work fine for a day, but now, every time I put on my brakes, or use a turn signal, the deck cuts out for a second, the antenna goes down for a sec, and then comes back on almost immediately. Is there any reason for that? I had thought it was the ground, and so I hooked the ground wire to another part of the chassis, but it still does it.

Thanx

Definitely sounds like one of your wires is shorting out...check your constant and power wire to the radio....

worst case scenario just run another hot wire to see it it does the same, if it does then your ignition wire is shorting somewhere, try running another ignition( or test it with a hot wire) and see it it does thje same. that should narrow it down, if youre still having problems, either dont brake or put on your directionals

O and when you say: "Why are the 3rd gens so good? Well... you know what they say, 3rd time is a charm" its sounds alot better to say 'times". You never hear anyone say 'time is" for that phrase its always 'times'. so next time get it right

check these

Hey maybe check the Acc wire or ignition and also your constant wire or clock usually is yellow wire off of the radios harness. Sometimes if either the Acc or the constant wire shorts or becomes disconnected the radio wont function. Do you lose the memory settings for radio stations and the radio internal clock?
