Another VE stall mystery
Okay, I'm headed down the high way doing about 90-95 in 4th. So I figure, I've never really opened it up on this car before so why not try it. I sped up more and it was even still pulling a little. I hit about 115 and all of a sudden, the rev needle dropped to about 1500rpm (it was around 5000). Then it stalled. I pulled to the side of the road, and tried to restart it. It wouldn't go at first, but after I turned it completely off (this also happens during most of the mystery stalls), and back on, it started and drove with no problem. I took it easy after that, not wanting anything bad to happen to the engine.
Anybody else have suggestions on this, or have something similar happen to them?

The oddest thing happens to my car. There's this huge railroad track on the way to my college that I have to pass over. It crosses right through a pretty main fast road.
But, pretty often when I go over it (clutch in, car in neutral kinda rolling over it) my car just cuts off. I just have to crank it right back up and keep going.
It's also done it over a few other huge pot holes and whatnot where I need to pretty much slow down real quick and coast over it. Car just cuts off after hitting the huge bump, pot hole, etc.
Only does it when I'm in neutral with the clutch pedal engaged. Also only does it when going over or hitting rather large bumps/thuds/etc (clutch engaged, car in neutral). It's not a huge problem because I can just crank it right back up and not miss a beat. I'd just like to know what's goin on with it.

hey james
only time it ever did it to me was when i pulled into my apartment complex. I pushed the clutch in and spun the wheel quickly to pull in. I figured it had to do with not having enough RPM's at idle, but i have no idea. only time it ever stalled on me. . . .

I think the problem with it cutting out over huge bumps may be some sort of electrical problem. Something to do with the shaking and then losing ground or something and in turn cutting out. It's not a stalling, just a complete cutting off.
Either way it's not a HUGE problem, cuz I dont regularly go over large bumps anyway.
