Moderator type question

Out of curiosity, How does someone become a moderator?

I'm electing to be one nor would I want to, as I do not have alot of knowledge to share with people.

Just wondering how someone gets to be one.

You spend years on the forums, get to know the guy who runs the place, and be able to answer a good chunk of the questions people ask around here..

oh.. you also have to be mature.. can't let any sissy boys like MaximaMike and Craig B run this place..
