Trying to bring Maxima back to life. Let me know if I am missing anything.

Ok I bought a Pearl White 89 GXE that was really a piece of sh1+. I have since spent 800.00 on a new muffler and the entire pipe from the front of the car to the muffler because it was rusted. I replaced the fuel filter, air filter, oil change, engine flush, trans flush (think the trans was the only thing ever replaced in this car) And I have this ugly azz rust on the bottom of both of the fenders that I am about to replace. I am dropping it off at the dealer to have the Fuel filler recall done so that they can repair the rust and corrosion in my rear wheel wells.

I am about to order these parts from courtesy:
Timing Belt
3 Drive Belts
02 Sensor
and I need new fuel lines but I dont know where to buy them.

While having these things changed I will get these things checked:

Radiator hoses
Main Oil Seal
Tensinor
Water Pump
Cramshaft Oil Seal
Thermostat
PCV valve

Am I forgetting anything?

Hmmm... maybe the exhaust manifold bolts and engine mounts, but it sounds like you've got the most important stuff covered. Let us know how everything comes out.

Oh yeah I forgot only one bose speaker works and the main panel dosent roll up any windows anymore other than the drivers. Its a work in progress but I will definitly take some before and after pictures once everything is done. After all of the mechanical stuff is done I may wait until summer but Im going with 18inch chrome. I had 17 on my 91SE but after my engine blew I sold them so I want to go bigger this time.

Also does anyone know where to get fuel lines I cant take this damn gas smell Im sure its from old cracked lines.

try and go to the junkyard maybe u'll have luck findin' fuel lines that r still in tact there.

r u sure it might be cracked fuel lines cuz i had a celica gt-s and i had the same problem but it wasn't the fuel lines, it turned out to be the top of the gas tank. but i may be wrong. good luck.

Wasnt there some type of recall on the fuel filler neck? Nissan will replace it for free if it meets the proper conditions.

(Rusted, cracked, etc.)

Just an idea.

My bad!

- That brings up another question:

Why not wait and see if that fixes the problem before you replace all the fuel lines? Or replace the fuel lines, but I would use new ones, not used.

Actually, a buddy and I just did a head pull on a 1990 and not only did we break all the exhaust studs, but we also had two bad fuel injectors that were causing the smell of gas from under the hood.

Yeah I am going to wait until I get it back. But I dont think the fuel lines have ever been replaced and this is a 89. So why not
