where does all the liquid go?

Lately this wierd stench been coming outa my vents when i have the a/c or heat on. i did a search and found out that mold or whatever rotting can get into the a/c intake underneath the wipers. Also in that search i read that Matt suggested to do a 50/50 mix of bleach and water (which i'll try) and pour it in the a/c intake to clean it out. my question is...where will all that liquid go? will it drain out somewhere or does it just sit inside?

Whoa!! I wouldn't pour any liquid into the ac intake system. The reason you get that moldy feel is because when you turn off your ac there is a lot of condensation(water) that just sits in the intake vent system.

The cure: Grab a spray bottle of windex or any other ammonia based cleaner and spray some all along the vents underneath the wipers. It also helps to have your car and ac running before you start spraying. This helps to avoid getting sprayed in the face and eyes with ammonia.

Goodluck,
Kevin

that's the exact same place I'm talking about. I've done this several times before in my car and others and never had a problem.

hey Matt, when you said u "done this several times," are you refering to the AKAICEBERG's spray bottle technique or your technique of pouring the water/bleach mix? Thanks

the pour in the water method. the water will drain out from the bottom. think about it, if it didn't...in a rain storm your car interior would flood.

iceberg...

I know that the liquid will drain, but not all of it. I would want to run the risk of BLEACH being sprayed onto my seats and dash. Windex would be a smarter way to go, but do what you like...its not my car.

that's why u chase it with clean water to wash the bleach out. trust me..it'll wash out. but if you're wary about bleach then use something else.

lysol works too if u spray it in there too.
