Thanks for posting them mike. For everyone else I'll try to get some new pics during the day. Its in the shop getting the 5-speed conversion as I speak so the new paint wont be on till then. The only chance I had a camera was at night so this will do it for now. I'll keep ya posted on how the car comes along. My old Gold baby is soon to be metallic blue.

They are chopped. When I get a pic during the day you will see how they sit. They rest even with the wheelwell on a flat ground. The driveway that my car was on was kinda uphill. I'll get some better pics later. Maybe my max sat higher than some others stock, but my 4" drop brought the wheels right down to the wells so you cant really put your hand up in them.
Senior Member
Nope I guess not. Measure the gap on a stock max. I bet you'll have a good 4" to play with. Like I said it does sit lower on even ground. Lets remember that I have nothing in the car then either. All molding a seat and all the stereo equipment including my NOS bottle is out right now. When its back in it will sit lower too.

No the trunck piece isnt just painted. I shaved the reflector with some bondo. If you looked at it up close you would never know it was there. There are no lines or anything aroung the reflector. There are some other custom things that you cant see in the pics. If you notice I shaved the lines around the door handles. I think it looks a lot better. It hard to see in the pics though. I know they look pretty rough at night.
I love the way the center piece on the trunk is so smooth and painted in without any visible gaps.
I like the look of the painted piece under the bumper, looks very dope, like you have a front lip. nice looking maxima, I would keep the paint the same way, mine is metallic blue and I think your white looks better!

The car is gray primer right now not white. It used to be gold. I'm not painting it a stock maxima blue like yours. It's all custom paint that I mixed together to get a "special" color. hehe. It is a lot differnt than any stock max's. You'll see, the color blue that I'm painting is hard to explain. It has a lot of pearl and all kinds of colors. I probably mixed like 12 diffent color quarts. Its gonna be real sweet though.

Chris92gxe, hey that's a sweet max you have there but those rims look kinda familier?? hehe.. I have to say that when you first started posting on the BBS I didn't really believe everything you said. Your max looks much better than I had thought it would. I like the way the center piece on the trunk is shaved, also like the touring wing. Can't wait to see pics of your max when it's painted. Did you also paint the chrome linings around the windows? It looks black to me (like on the SE's). I still don't understand how you have a 4" drop. My old max had a 2.75" drop in the front and it was no where near as high as yours looks in the pics. My old max was also gutted in the trunk and when I would go racing I would take out the back seats, and door panels. My 2.75" drop was really low... I can't imagine going 4".

When I first got on the board and saw your max I just sat and laughed. Only because I couldnt believe that someone had the same exact rims. I guess my max can be the brother to your departed max. I dont know what was up with my cars springs when I got them but I swear that the setup I have on the springs now is 4" lower than when I bought it. It sits just like your stock springs that you cut. Except the front sits a little lower then the rear. I think that better than the back sitting lower. Still gotta lotta plans for her in the future. Five -speed conversion this week, paint next week, and engine swap and 100 shot wet NOS somewhere in the future after that. It will definitly be a head turner and a civic burner. hehe

You don't need to have NOS to be a Civic burner

I'm gonna do the VG30ET swap in the summer. I'm thinking about building it up with new pistons, rods, valves, and injectors and raising the boost to at least 15-20psi. It all depends on what kind of traction I can get.I should be able to do just the swap itself for under 1g. Originally posted by block

Get the JWT injectors through Carparts.com(I'll find the part #) cuz JWT charges like $600 for them and you can get them at carparts for half the price. Traction? At 20 psi you'll see none of that..Originally posted by chris92gxe

hehe, Thanks Mike. I was curious if you could swap the TT pistons from the 90-96 and put them in the VG30ET. I need the extra strenth because I'm going with the bottle on top of the TC. I want to somehow adjust the turbo so I have basically no turbo lag. I'm sure we'll be talking a lot about this.

Stock pistons will be fine. How much nitrous are you planning on spraying? Adjust the turbo so you have no lag? Uhh well.. you could do it rally car style. Put a fuel injector in the crossover pipe, set up a computer or some **** to spray gas in the early rpm range. It explodes, spools the turbo, shoots flames out of the exhaust and gives you a nice popping sound. You know how when rally cars come around the corner they seem to pop when accelerating? Thats the anti-lag system. Quite cool. The other thing is a variable vain system. Thats $$ though.. Originally posted by chris92gxe

a Chip that sprays the nitrous till the turbo is spooled up?
Or you could keep the boost down and use the nitrous when your psi runs out of steam.

I was thinking of programming the NOS so it only sprays right before the turbo kicks in. I figure this would be a good setup. I only want about a 100 shot wet system. It will be hard enough to put that power to the ground so I wouldnt want any more. You think it would be a good idea to run the NOS right untill the TC kicks in. I think that will give me lots of power throughout the power band.
Senior Member
It would probably be easier and cheaper than the injector in the crosspipe. But you wouldn't get the cool flames out the tail to scare the **** out of people you race when your kickin their ***.

Senior Member
haha. Well I'm not really worried about the flames as long as they get a nice view of my touring wing out of their windshield. I just wish there was some way to find out about how fast you could get the car to run on street tires. Its not like I can mess with the rear ends and all that crap that is available on rear drive domestics. Basically I want all the speed I can get out of stock gear box with a heavy clutch. It will be fun to see how many sets of tires I burn up.

You don't want to spray NOS early because you will break lose and you won't get much traction. Running NOS with a Turbo setup puts alot of stress on the engine.. really not a great combo if you plan to keep the engine for a while. Also with the VG30ET, you won't be able to swap it in for under $1K. That's really hard. Forged Pistons cost $500, custom exhaust manifolds $400, T3/T4 hybrid Turbo $500, Intercooler $800, BOV $200, New rods $400, Cams $500, injectors $800, Fuel pump and pressure riser $200. As you can see, all theses parts add up more than $1,000. Plus, you need to find a VG30ET in good shape (very hard to find also).. est $300-$600.

It's not vinyl.. it's custom. The stock back piece was shaved off.

I'm not exactly sure how i feel about your wing man, if you got the ***** to back it up, it's cool, if not, that would be embarrassing. i'm not gonna rag on your max cause it sounds like you know what you are doin. what do you run at the track? any idea? how bout roadcourse? ever try it in your max?
I dont think there is anything wrong with the wing. He doesnt need to have ***** to back up a touring wing. Its just a touring wing. Nothing out of the air that could land a 747 or anything like the other wings I ve seen. The car is tight. Even with it primed. Great work Chris!!
Senior Member
Thanks Max88. Dont worry I'm not a rice boy at all. I'll definitely have the performance to back it up. As far as the wing goes, it does look a little weird in the pic. In person it looks really sweet. I cant believe that someone who talks so proudly of road racing is putting down a touring wing. That is where they evolved from. Dont worry cause my car will be burner at the track and at the road coarse. But I am reasonable on the limits of the car for the money. I'm not expesting 10's or anything. Maybe just mid to high 12's! hehe
Senior Member
depends dude, how much does it weigh, how much downforce do you get from it, how fast do you have to be going to get the downforce, is it adjustable. all these things are factors dude. when i roadcourse often i don't get over 50. it's cool dude, i'm sure your car looks sweet in person. i'm just not a big wing guy. just my opinion, i don't mean to rag on your max or anything. also, running 12's would be sweet, what do you have done to your motor? and you have a VG!
Senior Member
are you spraying the paint yourself or are you taking it to someone? the car looks pretty cool. cant wait to see some pics after the paint. take some pics of the interior too.
Senior Member
I gotta friend that works at a dealership that does the body work on cars that is gonna spray it for me. I did all of the primer and bondo myself. I might have to spray the paint myself and just have my friend spray the clearcoat. I just wanna make sure the clearcoat is good since its the final touch. Were planning on 5-6 coats so it should look deep and rich. I'll get some pics up off the custom interior when its painted too.
