Re: VG-VE engine swap???
you might wanna pick up the FSM for the two cars and compare specs, trannys, mounting of other accessories, etc. no one known has doen this before, personally I see it being more trouble than good and not worth the time and money to get it working. but if you're bored enough to do it, go ahead are you paying someone to do this for you??
OMG....I took an VG->VE engine swap post seriously *checks temperature*

having both cars would make it easier though. if he only had the engine that would be hard but he has both cars which should make it easier.
i also think this would be an easier swap than the vg-t considering nissan actually made the ve for that maxima i.e. not as much modding as a vg-t swap just more swapping.

Re: Re: VG-VE engine swap???
The only reason im doing this swap is b/c im getting this engine for $110, and im getting the whole car. So if the mounts match up i should be able to do the swap for really cheap.

You'd be better off with a VG powered 92SE. Or convert your car to an SE and keep the VG. Last time I checked the VE's on the 4dsc board were dropping like flies.

You told him to get a 92SE VG? Aren't 92SE standard VE?
He's trying to get away from the VG and into the VE.

he's saying that the ve engines are dropping like flies on the other maxima board (probably due to VTC's) and he's saying swap-wise you would be better off having a vg engine. he's also saying that if you have a VE engine with as much trouble as he's seen going on with those the better of the swaps, vg->ve and ve->vg, would be the ve to vg. although no that i know of has swapped the engines like that as it would probably be pretty difficult and expensive.

If anything counts, I beat on my VE harder than I used to beat on my VG... and my VE is still going STRONG at 187k miles. my VG was starting to smoke at just 125k miles.

So dude, do the swap if you have the ambition, the means and the money. It certainly can be done.
