Bose radio suggestions

Radio is dying, need new one. Should I get a newer model Bose (from 4th gen maxima)or buy new deck and get the adapter to make it work with the speakers? Will it sound really bad?

yea my factory head unit gave out like in Feb. so i just went out and got a Kenwood CD deck...and got adapters to run it to the stock speakers. it sounds ok but i eventually replaced all the speakers.

I have a 4th gen Cd and Tape unit, you can check it out on my homepage in the 4th page. I haven't had any problems and it matches the interior perfectly.

Yeah I have already seen the CD/tape unit. Just deciding whether or not to buy one. Probably should since it will be cheaper than a new deck.

Yeah, I replaced mine with a Bose from a 2000 Infiniti. It was a perfect fit. The only downside was that I had to cut all the wires and rewire it to the new connectors. For me, since I was using scissors instead of wirestrippers, it took about 5 hours all together. Personally, it was worth it, since now I got a CD player that looks stock. Only other part I bought beside the receiver was the brackets for my model. I was able to remove the Infiniti ones, but the brackets on mine were tighter than anything, so instead of swaping them, I bought new ones. I think they were like $11 for a set after shipping.

Go to the junkyard, and get another factory bose unit. You will spend four times as much money trying to get the same sound quality and quantity out of aftermarket components as you will sticking with the matched factory components. Been there, done that...
