Aftermarket Steering wheels

Heys guys, b4 sumone says do a search, I already did. I want to know if there is any aftermarket steering wheels that have the curse control function on them. My 93 has no airbag, but the curse control buttons are there. I want to put 1 on, but b4 I spend the $$$$ I need 2 know they exsists. Haven't seen many down here, but I can buy online. So, any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Haha OK. HI!

As far as I've seen, there are no aftermarket wheels that have cruise, but some do have buttons for other things... Nitro, horn, boost level change? (generic buttons) I'm sure you could wire them up for use with the cruise.

I'm thinking of getting an aftermarket wheel myself, either that or a 240sx wheel. They fit and have the cruise buttons built right in!

BTW, I was trying to find you a pic of a max with the 240sx wheel, but couldn't find it..... doh

Can u take the buttons out of the wheel? If you can do that, then I will go that way. The 240sx steering wheel would be too much $$$$ for me down here.

from that picture that looks to be the S13 equivalent of a 240sx so i think 89-94. My brother's 95 doesn't look like that so i'm sure that's the older style 240 wheel. you could probably find those on ebay.

I went on Ebay looking for that wheel, but the ones on there don't have the cruise control buttons. Does your brother have the buttons on it? Does anybody have a part number for that steering wheel in the pic?

actually this question is soemthing i am currently working on. i have a 92 se with airbag...and i ordered especially a special security tool hex thing to unlock the bolts holding the airbag part of my steering wheel so i could thrown on my momo wheel that came off a 240sx in japan. I think the hub for the 240 nissan should fit mine no problem. the bad thing is the horn and trying to figure a place to put the cruise control.

So, let me guess, the steering wheel doesn't have the buttons on it?

Why don't you just
A) relocate the cruise control buttons to somewhere on the dash where they are easily accessable (this is incredibly easy) or
B) buy a botton retainer ring. I think speedpeople.com carries them, or at least will know where you can get them. It is a 'U' shaped ring that wraps around the center of the wheel and has buttons on either side. That would at least take car of two of the bottons, and you could use the horn for the third. I would just relocate the bottons, though...

I think that I might just have to do that. 1 question though, are the buttons easy to take off the wheel & re-route the wires to another place. I do have a place I'm thinking of.

Yeah, that would be the least expensive route, and the re-wire should be no problem. I've done it. I just spliced the wires. I guess you could take the whole column apart and feed it through the dash to wherever you want to put them, but I just spliced the wires and ran them back down the steering column and up through the dash. Just get some wire (make sure it's the right guage), some splice caps, and some zip ties to keep it all clean. Tho horn is pretty easy to wire, too.

I don't have any pics of it since I did it, and unfortunately my car's stored kinda far from here right now. I'm supposed to go and get it this weekend to take it to where I'm storing it for the winter while I do some drivetrain work and some head and intake work, but I'm having trouble finding the right sized trailor hitch . I would drive it down there and all, but it's kind of hard when the transmission is sitting in the trunk, ya know?!

Anyway, if I end up getting it this weekend and taking it down there, then I'll try to remember to take some pics. My digi cam sucks, though, as you can probably see from the pics on my site www.nismo1989.nismo.org
