Stereo Problems!

O.k guyz, im new 2 this so gimme a break but,

I just bought my first nissan maxima a couple months ago, as you do first things first get a decent head unit.

Well i bought i nice Sony unit, ripped out the old tape deck, spent about an hour fitting those damn brackets to the new head unit, wired it all up what i thought was correct, but i cant even get power 2 the head unit, I dont wat colours are wat, so i tried all of them and nothing worked! It appears all thre wires are dead or something, coz even wen i touch them 2gether or on metal there no sparksd nufin. I check the fuses, im dumbfounded?? and by the way, wat is that stupid thing underneather the parcel shelf, with the cords goin into it and that? Help me someone!

first of all do you have the wiring harness that pluges into the factory plug or are you hardwiring it. if you have the wiring harness its color for color if you are hw it (which i hope your not)you would need at least a test light to check for constant and ignition and a battery to test for speakers unless you have bose and did you check all the fuses because i think one of the power wires isnt listed under radio in the fuse box

to check if the cd itself even work do this....
connect the yellow and red to positive on a battery!! ad connect the black to the negative of a battey.
you should at least get the display of the cd. Throw in a cd. No sound but you will see it play!!
