Bad ECU :(

well i have bad ECU in my 90 Vg 5 speed. now i dunno what to do. will another ECu fit?? like a 2k maxima? or does it have to be a 90 VG or just a VG?? should i look for it i junk yards or get the stillen one. i can spen up to $500 for the ECU but no more. the one in stillen is about $700 so i cant. but is there another website with ECU? JWT has the upgrade but that will not work. MAYBE SOMEONE HAS ONE FOR SALE???? cause i really need it

You can only replace your ECU with either the JWT ECU or one out of a VG. I'm not sure as to whether or not the automatic and manual ECUs are equivalent.

make sure the ECU will work for the emissions in your area. I know for some cars, the ECU in CA is different. Buddy put an ECU from a car that was sold in NJ into his CA emissions 240 and the car freaked. Barely made it around the block and was backfiring. Even after resetting the ECU it was still crap, but it was fine in the NJ car.
