A-arm bushings.

My brothers 1990 maxima has some looseness up front and we replaced the CV axle the other day but there is still some considerable looseness. While we were replacing the bad CV we noticed that one of the Lower a-arm bushings was totally gone, the large one on the bottom that acts as the pivot for the a-arm. Any way I was wondering if this was a replaceable item or if you had to replace the whole a-arm like in many cars these days? Thanx

On our cars they're called control arms instead of A arms...

Do a search on "control arm" in this forum and you'll find quite a bit of information.
I've been offering a replacement service for a small fee- much cheaper than replacing the entire control arm or paying a shop to replace the bushings.

the front bushing CAN be replaced, but it requires a hydraulic press and some "special" techniques on removing the old bushing. it's not a difficult job, but there's not a lot of people that have a 12 ton hydraulic press in their garage.
