Oil on spark plug........dammit
Hey guys, i have recently done some maitence on my 93 se. I noticed on the plug on the #5 cylinder had lots of oil on it and apeared to be fouled. I thought when I replaced the valve cover gasket that would clear up the problem.....it didnt. So does this mean this cylinder is bad? maybe just the piston ring or something of that nature? I am thinking that if its bad then try to sell it for a 5-speed
or would it be practical to tear it down and rebulid? I feel confident in my ability to try it but would the parts/labor not be worth it? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

Definately do a compression test. It could be rings or valve guides/seals. If it's the seals, they may be replaceable without removing the head. But I'm not that well versed on the VE. What's the condition of your PCV valve?
Well i have not changed my pcv valve. How is that related to the oil getting to the spark plug? I figured it was something piston or cylinder related mainly because it is only the #5 cylinder that has the fouled plug. I will get a compression test done so I can further diagnose this.
