window washer fluid problem

My question concerns the window washer fluid system. When i spray the fluid it comes out all messed up and gets all over the hood. I took the the nozzels off the hood and they were clean. I could spray air and water through them fine. Then i checked the tubes that carry the fluid and they are all clear. So i assume its the pump. If anybody had any experience replacing their pump could you let me know if it was an easy task or a real pain in the a**. Also how much do you think it will cost me to replace the pump.....thanks

Re: window washer fluid problem

If it sprays at all it shouldn't be the pump but I never had that problem before so I don't know. Do you know you can adjust wjere the sprayers spray. if you stick a little nail or something in one of the holes you can move them around. They are a pain to adjust they either go to far or not enough.

yea if it sprays than it isn't the pump. the nozzle might have calcium buildup inside. anything that blocks the flow will have a wierd spray pattern when the water does come out. remove those washers and soak them in warm water with a lemon juice or vinegar for like 15 minutes. that should remove any calcium buildup. hope this helps.

Please tell me if this works, I have the same problem, and I'd rather have evidence that it'll work before I try it. Thanks.

I had the same problem. What I did was insert a pin in the little hole where the fluid gets out to the windshield. I think those little holes get clogged after a while. Hope this helps.
