will this hold up in court??

recently comin from a females house in south GA, i was pulled over by a worth county trooper for speeding of course (82 in a 55, dumb i know but no traffic on the roads and its str8 country roads)...bout $195 dollar fine.....on top of that, the officer gave me a citation for my music being to loud and claimed he heard me coming down the highway 100 yards a way.....true enough i had my music loud, but 100 yards away....lets be serious now (radio was only on 20..which is not really that loud)!!! All though its a good 2 1/s hours away if i decide to go to court, do you guys think this noise ordinance will hold up in court....simple fact, my windows were rolled up, no way in hell he heard me 100 yards (a whole football field) away and on top of that, i was passing a car when we passed the trooper...for all i know, it could have been tha car next to me with music louder than me....trooper didn't check to see if i had 12's or anything in the trunk (which i do), but his case is more on a assumption cause i really don't see any "valid" proof to where he can prove it was me!! what do you guys think???

I think the music citation is the least of your worries.

What city was the citation issued in? Was it GSP?

I have to agree with Jeff on this but if you have 12s then it is a good possibality he is right since bass travels very well.

to answer your question though with that kind of speed the court will probably hold up the noise citation. I mean they might take it easy on you but will probably say hey this kid was flying so I am not going to give him a break on anything.

Then again he may throw it out.

It is like a lot of things involved with law enforcement though. Your word against the HP. Who do you think wins most of the time...especialy when it is shown that you dont care about the law with your speed.

Unless you know or can afford a lawyer, they always win

How much is the noise fine?

What will it cost you to drive the 5 hour round trip to sit in court to wait to be called?

Unless you really want to be a martyr, pay the fine if it's not too large. But, call a couple of attorneys in that area about the speeding ticket and ask what they can do about it. It might be worth the fee to keep points off your license and insurance.

i don't think it was state patrol...not really sure though cause its dark as hell in the country with no city lights.....the speeding ticket is about $190 off the rip.....i have to call about the noise citation though cause the officer wouldn't tell me.....the chick i visited told me she had a friend who got a noise ordinance citation and it was $500!!! That can't be true (at least i hope not), i had a friend here where i live and her citation was like $75 - $100 if i'm not mistaken....since the officer said it was a state wide law, the fine should be the same everywhere right??? I was thinkin of talkin to a lawyer, but he would probably charge me out tha yang just for drivin to Webster, GA....i'll see what they have to say though...
