Re: sweet ride
That would be the one and only Nissan S15 Silvia.. you can find more info on it by many Japanese Nissan websites. Sorry, I don't know of any off hand right now.

OK i've had it! I'm writing Nissan and seriouisly *****ing them out for this one! That thing is an orgasm on wheels! Why the hell do they NOT sell that kinda **** in America, and they wonder why their sales are slow! I agree I would sell everything for that ****er! I think most people would agree with me that that kinda stuff would sell very well in America.

The Problem is all the modifications that you'd have to do to the car to make it US legal.. there's tons of stuff, and I wouldn't want to mess with it either.
Emissions standards are a PIA, not to mention the DOT safety standards in general.. airbags, 47 seatbelts, crumple zones, etc etc..

I don't have to worry about that. That's what Nissan is for. They should make a US-spec Silvia and bring it here to the states and call it the New 240.. but this time I want Nissan to bring the same Turbo engine as well. We don't want a watered-down 150hp N/A engine.

R35
I read in Car & Driver that we're going to get the R35 Nissan Skyline GT-R in the states when it comes out. 4.5L V8 pumping out 400 HP. This one looks like a real winner. Doesn't look boxy like the R34 and I'm sure it will come with all the goodies

Hey Matt, are the safety specs that bad on it that it couldn't be brought here like that? I mean, I know there would have to be modifications made to emissions and such, but is the construction of that car so poor that they would have to remake the car to sell it here???

Re: Im just gonna wait for the Nissan 300zx Turbo in 2003, that will be nice
ummm... what Nissan 300ZX Turbo?? The 300ZX TT is discontinued. Nissan will be bringing the New Z car to the US sometime in 2002. From what I understand, it will have the VQ35DE engine pumping out 300+hp. Can someone inform me if this car will be ALL MOTOR or will there be a Turbo version? I keep getting mixed answers.. most of it are just rumors though.

and also yes it is the VQ35DE, with 6-speed Manual, or 5-speed automatic available.
The SE-R Spec V will have 180hp/180 ft.lbs, and the SE-R will have 170/170. 6-speed manual will be available in the Spec V, and a 5-speed Manual and 4-Speed automatic will be available in the SE-R. A helical limited-slip differential is standard on the 6-speed equipped SE-R Spec V. And will also come with a FSTB on one of the models. I forget.
Available on the SE-R Spec V will also be a 280-watt 9 speaker Rockford Fosgate system with 6-CD in dash changer. 8" Sub in back, coaxial speakers in rear, and one ohm fronts. All custom tuned by Fosgate -wink wink-. Rockfords first OEM system, and will also be doing the systems in the Xterra and Frontier Crew Cab.
Pretty cool.
