aftermarket Radio problems

I just bought a 91 maxima, and I installed a newer sony cd player,
using a harness, and antenna adapter I got from circuit city.
The radio comes on and everything works except have no sound. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how they have fix it. I check the fuses I did not find any blown ones,

I am pretty sure I hardwired the harness correctly, my car did come with bose though. So if you have bose, do you have to replaced all of the speakers?

Doubtful, when I got my Max, it still had the stock BOSE stuff xept for the head unit. It's the same one as Craig B's old one so I'm sure you don't need to replace your speakers. You just wired sumthin wrong.

there is a remote wire that tells the bose amps to turn on it is blue hook it up to the wire harness the wire will also be blue i wouldnt run bose amps with a after market deck it will **** up the amps i bet due to high of line input level. you best bet is to buy some componets for the front and some coaxials for the back from etronics.com you could have anawsome stereo set up for under 300-350 worth of speakers

mine had bosein it when my friend had it and it worked fine till he fried the amps. dunno how well theyll sound, but i know you can bypass the amps and hardwire the speakers and you should be ok. check your wiring harness. its possible that the turn on for the amps may not be hooked up, causing the speakers not to play.just bypass the bose before you blow it

In order for the stock speakers to work I believe you have to bypass the amps. Either there is a wiring harness or wire that bypasses it but there are special wires that are needed for the bose system to work an aftermarket head unit

I have Bose, and an aftermarket CD deck. The wiring adaptor I bought was specifically for a Bose system, it even had gain adjustments for each of the 4 speakers so you wouldn't blow out your bose amps with the juice coming out of your head unit. Perhaps Circuit City gave you the wrong wiring harness? I got mine from Crutchfield, and it was pricey ($50 or so). Maybe that is your problem. When I wired mine up, there wasn't any sound until I turned the gain up for each speaker. Hope that helps.
