Altinator...if you ever had a Alt. prob. check this

(my problem) Ok, when the car is at a stop random things will shutoff/dim (my headunit mostly) all the dash lights dim. when this happends im fuked... because, as soon as i turn the car off it will not start up again, unless i get a jump-start. then it starts right up
-my batt. is 5 months old and its 900cca (tested 100% charge)
-when im at a stop and rev the enigne, all the dash lights glow brighter.

what do you ppl think... electrical short? or altinator,

..do you need more info
, i hope some one can give me there 2 cents before i go the shop tomorrow

1. It's alternator
2. Check your battery cables and all the connections on them. if the battery is staying charged, then it sounds mor elike you're got a wiring problem. the factory terminals tend to corrode and fall apart after several years. replace them and see where it goes from there.

Like Matt said, battery terminals have caused this before.

Don't forget something simple like the belt either, could be slipping some - had the same results one time.

Also, check plug in connections. I had an alternator installed, few months later was experiencing problems intermittently. Turned out the plug in to the alternator was lose not making a great connection.

Voltage Regulator possibly - it's built into the alternator, so unless you know or feel like poking around in the innards of the alternator, you'll need to install a whole new alternator.
