corner light rewire

I am thinking about rewiring the corner lights to stay on bright all the time and was wondering, if anyone has ran into any problems in doing this? Such as blowing fuses, melting wires, or even melting the corner lens itself. The lens itself feels like it gets pretty warm after leaving the blinker on for even just ten minutes. Can it handle being on high power all the time?

Yes, yes it can... And any sort of lights burn hot so don't even worry about it...

I had a problem with my original turn signal/headlight switch and I got a good deal on a NOS set and replaced them. It turned out that it came from a 89-91 setup which doesn't have the extra plug that the 92-94's do so I don't have corner lights when I put on the turn signal. Has anyone rewired their lights to work when the turnsignal is on? Do you think that I should try to get a 92-94 switch? It doesn't really bother me but I thought I would ask.

i rewired mine early fall 02' and one of my corner lenses now has condensation in it because the heat from the bulb broke the seal on the lense

I just burn out bulbs too quick. Hopefully by upgrading the wires that got to the bulb i can aliviate(sp?) that problem.

I did mine about 3 weeks ago and it was real easy and I didn't run into any problems at all.

All Maxima's have corner lights when you put the turn signal on. I have a 90&91 and they both do. Also what type of bulbs are you guys using and do any of you have the clear corner lenses? I think that the normal lenses would handle the heat fine but these aftermarket clear lenses I got just don't seem as sturdy.

Yes I know this but if you pull out your headlight switch you will notice that if you have a 89-91 that you have one plug and if you have a 92-94 there are 2 plugs, they will both fit in either application but if you have a 89-91 part in a 92 then when you put on the turnsignal you won't have the corner light light up.

This is just a suggestion:
Instead of keeping the corner lights on all the time and risking the chance of burning out fuses or melting the corner housing, why not figure out a what to hook up a switch that will turn on the corner lights when you want (such as when you want to be noticed) and turning them off (when you don't need to exhibit Maxima beauty).

And before my head gets bitten off, I know the starter of this post wants the corner lights on all the time... this was just a suggestion.
