Hail Silverstars!

one word: wow.
I have bought many pairs of headlights, and these are so far the best combination of output and quality.

Sure you can get nokya or something for more output but after a few harnesses and sets of burned up bulbs that's a good pair of silverstars.

I've never stooped to the level of the painted/tinted bulb, but I have friends who have...

Just thought I'd share my sentiment over my new bulbs.

I had originally purchased the Silverstars a while back (about a month ago), was somewhat impressed with them (over the stock headlights, the Silverstars were 100x better). However, their light output just wasn't all too great. Could have been the fact that I was still usinn the stock wiring harness and configuration.

I replaced them with Hella 80/100W 9004's and relayed them. The light output was 1,000x better than the Silverstars and no comparison to the stock lights. Not quite the color temperature of the Silverstars, but their light output makes up for the difference.

Now, I wonder what the light output could be if I had relayed the Silverstars. Do you think it would improve?

my friend had gotten a set for his 240 and we both felt they sucked.they werent even as bright as the stock ones. dunno if having the sealed beams would make them worse or not. he returned them and bought the cool blue ones and they were much brighter and cheaper.

I dunno... I've had Silverstars, Nokyas, CuZo, and some no-name brand, and although I'll admit those Silverstars have a great output, I really like the ones I have now (I think they're XD-5 or something like that - I'm at work and don't remember right now...).

So, that's just MY $0.02 worth.

do you have to upgrade the wiring to accomodate the silverstars, or will they run on the stock wires without burning out

I was seriously considering the 80/100W bulbs and an upgraded harness, but when I calculated it out, it was about the same as a pair of silverstars.

Also, the cops here are fanatical about vehicle lighting violations...I don't need anything to draw more attention to myself.

Last weekend I got pulled over twice in one night because my license plate bulb was on the fritz and kept going out. Nozzle LEDs? Traffic Stop. Neons in car? Traffic stop. Neons under car? Traffic stop. Colored side markers? Traffic stop. You get the idea...for now, silverstars are quite adequate.

The only problem is that now my cornering lamps look dingy and gross at night. I guess I need some hyperwhite bulbs in there, and pray I don't arouse suspicion.

It is pretty bad. I think you can have green neon with the bulb concealed, but nothing else.

just get some hyperwhite bulbs for your corner and rewire them to stay on bright all the time. you can fund how-to's on corner rewire on craig's website.
