sunroof

For a while now, the sunroof hasnt been able to slide open at all, the moon roof works, but it doesnt go up to its highest height. i think its the motor, my dad thinks its something on the roof track itself. any one else had these problems. i know with most 3rds gens, its those damn window regulators so im hoping this is a fairly common to repair.

I had the same problem quite awhile ago. The problem ended up being that the clips that hold in the sunshade had broken off and got wedged in the sunroof rail. That was stopping the sunroof from moving the entire way. My solution to that was removing the sunshade and getting the heaviest tint that I could buy and applying it to the sunroof itself.

that happened to me but I was able to get the clip out by rasing the sunroof and fishing the piece of clip out.

kinda weird that the moon roof doesnt go all the way up...i'd go w/ u on the motor...ive had trouble w/ the shade b/f, but that has nuttin 2 do w/ the moonroof...i'd take off the sunroof itself (just sum bolts) and take a better look...you would really know if the motor was bad then cause it should b able to move w/o the glass on it

im having the same problems..

Ok my sun visor is Fuked up. This chick and I were fighing in the car, she kicked that visor like 10 times, the guider clips are are all bent out of shape and the visor wont slide properly, i think a few of them broke too.. anyway, im making a mess of my roof trying to get the clips back on the rail. im assuming that each clip goes onto the first rail from the bottom...what the best way i can really get at the visor,? should i take the glass out? can i get the visor off woth out taking the glass out?

any info at all will help.. thanx a bunch

Here are the steps I used to remove the shade. Maybe they will be of some help repairing yours.

I have some instructions for removing the shade that I found at Maxima.org. I haven't tried this but they claimed it was a 10-15 minute job. Here are the steps:

1.Slide the shade back.

2. Open the sunroof to the position where it is popped up(not slid back)

3. There are 2 plastic bolt covers on the underside of the glass(one on each side). Each one has one screw in it. Remove the screws, and the covers should slide back and come off.

4. Remove the nuts that hold the glass. Remove the glass by picking it up from the outside of the car.

5. Slide the shade forward about half way. Get out of the car and work from the top. Notice the black clips on the sides that ride on the aluminum rail. There are 4 of these, one set on each corner. Each set ha........
