Sounds like MY car. It'll be cheaper to get the windshield from a junkyard and to get a shop to put it in. That's from my little bit of research.

Go through the yellow pages and call all of them, ask if they'll beat the best price that you've found. Most glass shops are very competitive.

The guy had one put in my 92GXE just before the motor messed up and I got it. I think he paid $150-$175 but cant remember. Obviously its not the factory Nissan windshield and it has kind of a green look to it at certain angles. I think I would pay a little more for a PPG or something...or do like nubiannupe said and get one from a junk yard.

The brand on this one is Pilkington and you can see through it fine and all but like I said at certain angles it looks green.

Does your comprehensive insurance cover that?

i only have liability on my car. the maxima is used mainly in the winter and rain. i'm paying $3,200 a year for insurance on my BMW and maxima so i really didn't wanna pay more by adding additional coverage on a $3,500 car.

I had mine replaced last summer for 200. They drove to my work and did it for me so I would not have to drop the car off. Safelite auto is the chain.

hmm didnt know that. It is definately a cheaper grade of glass though I guess as long as it stays together in a wreck like its supposed to its ok though. I dont see to many windshields that have a green look to it at certain angles.
