I took my seats out yesterday for some major cleaning. Each seat has a cable under the seat. What are they and are they supposed to be hooked into a clasp under the seat?

It's for your seatbelt sensor. Have you ever noticed that when your seatbelt is plugged in, the little red light on your dash goes off That's how it works

do you have power seats? like are there push buttons on the side of the seat? if so that is where the power gets connected to. actually i think all maxima's came with the wires for the power seats , and since power seats was an option all they have to do is put a deat with a power track on it.
i dont know if they had heated leather seats back then , i doubt that would be there for that purpose
but most likely its just there if you ever want to put power seats

thats not necessarily true...I have the same cable under my seat and I don't have heasted or power seats. it goes to the seatbelt latch, thus its a sensor like rbloedow said. if the wire is going into the belt clasp its for the seat belt sensor.

i said that it was an option to have power seats, lol, and if someone wanted to have power seats they would have to plug into the seat, now if it goes into the seatbelt then i guess its a sensor..
but basically i had my seats out yesterday and other coupl of times the only wires that i had was the one connected to my power seats its a clip type connection, and the seats must be grounded for the seats to work.. what yeat is your max..???
