For those with 6.5's up front....

I'll be getting the pods from James soon and was wondering what speakers people had up front. Did you have any problems fitting components in the door? I have 6x9 Kenwoods in the back, and the HU is a Sony Xplod. Someone told me that if I want components, I should get a separate amp to power them and run the rears off the HU.

Please help, thanks in advance.

I don't know much about components...i have 6.5's in the front. I would advise you to somehow dynamat the door there else it'll rattle at high bass. Mine is now after changing to the pods which is a perfect fit. i'm too lazy to open it up and secure stuff in there. Check the audio/video forum, they should be able to help you out. also ask matt93se....he's the moderator of the audio ice forum.

if u get a component set u WILL need an amp to get the most out of your speakers...that headunit doesnt have enough power to run the fronts alone at a high volume...fitment is not an issue, especially w/ james pods...really cant go wrong there...ill have pics on my site soon, and others have pics as well...

I have Pioneer 4 way 6.5's and infinity tweeters wire to a infinity crossover and kenwood amp, you will want a amp for the extra power needed. You can get a 4 channel amp and wire it to ur 6.5's and 6x9's, or even a 5 channel and wire it to ur sub also.

I have a pair of Audiobahn 6.5" speakers in the factory spots up front, and a pair of Kenwood 6x9s in the rear. I was considering components up front, but I believe that I'll have to get another amp to power them, and I don't necessarily want to do that right now (I already have two amps now). Check out my website to see my system. If you have any other Q's, just holla at a brotha!!!
